I really like this soundtrack, but I wish the *chopped* remix of Jidenna's "Classic Man" had been included.

I am an artist that chooses inspiring music to paint and draw by. This album was added the day after I saw the movie. I confess I couldn't focus on the story line as I was swept away by the score and visuals of the ocean.
  • Great Soundtrack

Moonlight is an amazing movie made even better by Nicholas Britell's amazing score. Without question one of the best soundtrack's I have listened to, Britell's compositions are powerful, moving and brilliant. I look forward to hearing more from this amazingly talented composer.

This score has so many amazing moments of sound, feeling and depth. There are many little treasures of unforgettable progressions of chords and delicacy of instrumentation. It is quite refreshing to have music you can breathe into. For further discovery, seeing the move would greatly help to understand the intentions of the music.
  • Excellent, But...

I gave this 5 stars for obvious reasons. Britell's score is unlike any other, and is so simple yet so unique. But here's my one thing: where is Cucurrucucú Paloma???? That's such a beautiful song at such a key moment in the movie. It needs to be added!!!

The title says it all. "The Middle of the World" is one of the best classical pieces I have ever heard and I've studied classical piano and classical musicians for 11 years.
  • Beautifully Score!

The score, like the characters in Moonlight lingers. You can feel the ache and longing throughout the score. So much conflict and tension in the music. So beautiful. It touches the soul.

not many movies send me searching for the score. this was a perfect, gently surprising complement to the gorgeous cinematography and tender story.

This movie is the critical darling of 2016 and a likely best picture nom, but the real story is the score. Britell conjures a special kind of soul for this film, effortlessly explaining, without overpowering, the wave of conflicting, uncomfortable emotions that dance around the film. He is careful to hone the sound, only deepening the emotional fulcrum of the story. It's not easy to pull off, which is why this is such an impressive feat.

Saw the film at a film festival and couldn't stop thinking about the score. this brings me right back, very emotional.
