The Original Composer to the Prince of Tides was John Barry. IF ONLY Barbra had not interferred so much. Barry was quoted as saying on British TV, it was the most JOYLESS occation of his life. The main theme to the Prince of Tides is actually on Across the Sea of TIme composed by John Barry. The Flight over New York City, is actually The Rejected Prince of Tides theme. After Barry went on his way, The main theme was played for Barbra and she said to Stephen Foster who was playing it on the piano, SHE asked where is that from, it sounds familar, does it have words to it, it is beautiful. Foster said it is the Rejected Music from Prince of Tides. Barbra didn't say nothing. IF ONLY BARBRA had left John Barry alone. WOW. What could of been. AND ALSO, it would of been neat if Robert Redford had also left John Barry alone too, from The Horse Whisperer.

If I had to choose one CD to listen to for the rest of my life it would be this. I have been listening to this soundtrack since 95 and I'm still listening to it today. Emotionally complete, and the movie is fantastic of course.

This composer is amazing. The music on this CD is fabulous - even tho Barbra sang at the end..... Why does he not get the artist credit?

This soundtrack is gorgeous but curious, as all of the artist credits are given to Barbra. Barbra had to be coaxed into supplying vocals for this cd to help sales. So, Barbra appears after the end credits to treat us with her beautiful vocal delivery on the standard "For All We Know" and "Places That Belong To You." Given the lush arrangements both songs were recorded during sessions for this soundtrack. Barbra is a bit down in the mix and the overall mastering of this cd is a bit quiet, but no less beautiful.
  • She is sooo amazing!!

There aren't enough words to describe how amazing this soundtrack is. The Movie is the greatest movie I have ever seen. Barbra can really get into you emotionally. From her movies, to her music, to creating this wonderful soundtrack. Barbra and "The Prince Of Tides", truly amazing in every way.

All of the tracks are worth purchasing. I didn't add the two songs sung by Streisand at the end on my Ipod (track 23, 24 once they correct the artist info). This is James' show and the score is great to listen to even if you don't know the film. The movie is good but the score is one of my favorites in my Library. His score is easy to find escape in and to relax with. Main Title sweeps you in. A modern classic and Howeard's best to date.

I absolutly loved this movie and I was so happy to finally see the soundtrack on itunes. Not only did she direct, produce, and star in the movie, she sang two INCREDIBLE songs on the already beautiful album. Every song is filled with emotion and lyrical beauty. So rent the movie and be sure to check out all the songs on the album. Way to go again Barbra!!!
