The same with the Beatles Abbey rd and Let it be, fans argue which is there last album cause the release date and recording date don’t align. Static Age is without a doubt The Misfits debut album. Recorded about 4 years before Walk Among Us at the dawn of 78’ this album should have been The Misfits landmark debut (still is) and released in that year but no label wanted to release the work of mastermind Glenn Danzig. Such a shame

The day I found this album in my local record shop was a very happy day indeed. The Misfits were a little before my time, but I've loved their music since the first time I heard them. Unlike many fans however, I still love them as much in 2015 as I've ever loved them. Regardless of what you think of the new stuff though, this is a MUST OWN album not just for Misfits fans, but for fans or horror or punk rock in general. Static Age has that raw punk rock sound that very few albums have captured so brilliantly (such as Black Flag's Damaged or anything by Minor Threat). What was created here is magic that will live on well beyond the life of the performers and it's just a shame that Danzig & the boys couldn't work things out to reunite & give us another classic Misfits album. I don't care how old these guys are, they absolutely rock!
  • If it is not Danzig its not misfits!!!

Unless you like listening to a piss poor cover band led by the bassist of all things! Don't buy the jerry only band who didn't have the talent to start his own band. So he latched on to Glenn danzigs success. Like a dog humping a leg. This is the real misfits. You want great punk look know further.

I wonder if the Misfits would have had a different history if this album was actually released in 1978? All of these versions are far superior to the remixes/overdubbed Legacy of Brutality counterparts. Theme for a Jackal is never spoken about as a Misfits classic, probably because it has a slightly different sound and song structure from most of their better known songs - but IMHO is one of the best songs they ever recorded. Great album!

This album is totally awesome. if you can't handle songs about sex drugs, and cannibalism, then maybe go listen to something nice and mellow...
