Bottom line:
If you like the genre, this is a great movie, and the soiundtrack is no exception. Anyone who says otherwise dose not like this genre anyway, or is simply out of theri mind.

"I purchased "Troy" (Music From the Motion Picture) a while back, and I have to say that I really enjoyed the musical mixture of peaceful harmony, and the rush of the Orchastra sounding the "The Trojans Attack" you can almost feel the epic clash of these Greek/Trojans warriors straight from "The Iliad" and imaging the herioc Achilles being godlike in "Through the Fires...Achilles and Immortality"
However I don't consider "Troy" a "ground-breaking soundtrack" but if I had to do over again I would do it again, and if you are a fan of Horner's traditional soundtracks, don't expect it to do justice to the "The Iliad"

The soundtrack is just as good as the movie. The music is beautiful in its own way. James Horner has created such magnificent music for many award winning movies. Well done. James Horner created the BEST soundtrack for Troy. The music goes with the film perfectly.

To me this is the best movie ever, even though this movie is from 2004 I still watch it like 3 times a month. The soundtrack is super awesome and the movie is the best... But I think that Achilles should have never been killed by Paris and that Achilles and Briseis made a very good couple and that he should have Never should have died! :)

Ok, a note on the movie first. There are limits to what you can do in a movie and the moviemakers for this film did a great job of consolidating tha story of the Trojan war into a movie that made sense and kept it interesting. Great job on keeping the view impartial-there isn't a good guy or a bad guy, so I cried just as much for Hector as I did for Achilles. This score brought out the emotions and thrill the movie conveyed wonderfully, making the great battles epic, the dramatic moments mindblowing, the tender moments poingnant, and the sad moments heartbreaking. One of my all time favorite movies--6 stars for the both of them!

so i saw the movie for the first time just recently and fell ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH IT!!!!!! i can't stop thinking about it(so i bought it) i just read the illiad and the odyssey and the movie is pretty acurate to the book and lets just say this music is THE BEST EVER to go along wiht it all the emotions are perfect to go along with the plot. A must listen to soundtrack, and a must see movie!!!!

How can you people not call this original?? Each of James Horner's scores delivers one or two new themes and motifs, with exciting, moving, and powerful music. How can you be a fan of James Horner and be disapointed in this wonderful score. Thats right I'm talking to you "2Braised". This score is powerful with a stunning motif for Achilles and the love theme is astounding! I recomend this to any James Horner fan. Not to mention that he wrote this in ONE MONTH!!!!
