Love This Giant

After listening to this album for the past week and seeing the artists perform with collaborative harmony last night in VT, I'm sold. The fifty dollar concert ticket and $10 album equals another another unique David Byrne experience. I've been following David's career since 77. Somewhere after the Talking Heads and around Rei Momo I've been challenged but never disappointed. Strings, dancers or horns it is always an original example of Byrne's ability to push out the walls of his artistry. When you add Annie Clark and big choreographed brass it all just works!

This music makes me want to go to a maternity ward and punch infants. Don't buy it

This album is stupid good. Echos of old talking heads with twists of modernity and a dash of St. Vincent's beautiful voice. Just get it. You wont find a better place to spend ten bucks...this month at least.

This album is kind of what you would expect from David Byrne. The collaboration is good because otherwise there might not be a reason to buy another album that is kind of the same as so many other wonderful David Byrne albums. The horns are also good, but not amazing and certainly not all that novel. Overall it is a decent album and I have enjoyed listening to it, but it certainly does not seem all that fantastic to me.

Not the best I've ever heard. I Am an Ape is the only one that did it for me. I like Saint Vincent, and the Talking Heads, but the combo, not so much.

Saw this on The Colbert Report and thought it was great.

On top of an amazing book that is almost a musicians bible written by a loving and honest artist that proves his love of not just life, but lives for music, Byrne comes out with the most affecting, hypnotic. American, should churning harmonies an grooves with a neo-NYC style dirty dozen future horn line and just amazing singing, sometime I can barely make him out coming through the music at times- almost like the egoless riffs of Remain in light, pure groove, only to have him float thru like a spirit on a music cloud with a wind of horns and vocal harmonies surround him. This may be the best thing uou have done since the breakup-- david! definitely the most freeing, the most collaborative ive have heard. I know these are somehow HIS songs, but now it's like he's discovered what letting go can do, he sounds more truthful and vital-- yes vital, singing now as he has ever possibly sounded. St Vincent I don't know so i can't judge how much collab there was-- my view is that there was massive exchange. And that is what is so cool, David is wiling to go anywhere, he refuses to stop evolving into something that you can't refuse. I haven't loved all his records-- my guess is neither has he........ BUT To be blown away by an artist whose done it before so many time, to realize his vitality and erudition and intelligence and observant critique of music through the creation of his own music not only makes it timeless, but necessary to hear in this slack confused era for artists. Music and technology have lacked soul, acceptable soul and yearning. To me he has crossed over from being a musical genius, or artist, to becoming closer to a human genius. with the works he's put out (as well as his book How Music Works) this is a remarkable year for him. Thank you David, you made me want to write and make incredible music today, an that's the best gift an artist can receive, inspiration.

St. Vincent without her stunning, totally unique guitar riffs. This is not for me, it sounds like Talking Heads out takes.

Love this Giant is unlike anything I ever heard before. The way the horns are incorporated in their songs give every song it's own personality. I hope they decide to do another album together. Album of the year contender for sure!
