best like slipknot

This album is soulfly at its finest. I wish that the band would do another nu metal record. Every song on this album is is awesome. Can't wait to hear archangel which is coming out sometime this year.

Love this cd.

'Soulfly' was a great debut album. With its multiple guest artists, excellent production, twists, and aggressive vocals the band (and Max Cavalera himself) is known for, it showed that Max wasn't gonna quit making good music after leaving Sepultura. 'Primitive' continues the trend, so those looking for more in-your-face nu metal shouldn't be disappointed. The tribal drumming and Brazilian experimentation is still there, and Max's vocals are as aggressive as ever. What sets this album apart from Soulfly's other work, however, is its extremely familiar and unexpected guests. The album's second track, 'Pain', features another appearance from Chino Moreno of Deftones, who was also on the band's first album. 'Jumpdaf*ckup' is one of the album's highlights, as it features Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour performing the verses of the song. His unquestionable voice dominates the track in an almost rap-like vocal style, something neither Slipknot nor Stone Sour usually does. 'Terrorist' features Tom Araya, vocalist for the acclaimed thrash metal band Slayer. But what really grabbed me was the duet with Sean Lennon, the son of John Lennon from The Beatles. Sean's voice is pretty much identical to his father's, so you may think John himself was on the song. It sounds like 'the Beatles meets metal', as it has that groove the Beatles are known for. The song is surprisingly great, and is something you have to hear to believe. Soulfly still hasn't disappointed with this album. Get it if you like metal.

This album is a great album but what I dont understand is how everyone is obsessed with the guest appearances on albums? It's great to have collaborations but this band, in my opinion, is so much better than Slipknot. While on the subject of collabs., check out "Pain." Fans of Will Haven and Deftones will recognize Chino and Grady on vocals. Two great vocalists from two great Sacto bands. Pay attention to the music and not the gimmick of masks. Drawing attention from the people who make the music to get fans to listen to the music instead? Come on, you know that its a marketing ploy. The music shows how you can feel on the inside and you don't need masks. I like slipknot but the reasons behind their masks is bs. Check out Primitive and other albums by Soulfly. It's a great album even without Corey T. from Slipknot. ps. like this album? check out deftones' Around the Fur with the track Headup feat. Max. Great track on a great album!

I am one of the toughest critics out there of music and this album is good but not great. The good songs on it are Boom and the Prophet. But no one song seems to stand out and punch me in the face like i want it to.

this cd is awesome especially with corey taylor featuring in Jumpdaf@#$up, thats probably the best song on this cd. if you like these guys, listen to Cavalera Conspiracy, its the same lead singer
